Action Script

Any one know any one really good at action script? I've been working on a Web Site for my Dad and for his photos i found this great dynamic flash gallery. However, I have one issue that my limited Actionscript knowledge could not solve, I have to load a lot of images into this gallery and I do not want to sit there and resize all of them to fit the thumb nails and the bigger image. I was wondering if there was some way to make the images auto scale to fit the boxes made for them. i know how to do it using Loaders, but the case is very different here cus I don't know where to put the loaders and the code. IF any one knows actionscript really well, please, HELP!!!!
